Police Arrests 13 Underage Girls in Sex Marathon

Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, who is also the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, confirmed Kabanda’s death.

Thirteen underage girls were arrested on Saturday night in a sex marathon organized in Katwe, a close Kampala City suburb. Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala police spokesperson, said Clock Tower police raided a brothel in Katwe acting on intelligence and found teenage girls in compromising positions with adult men.

Owoyesigyire said the incident that was in Base zone, Katwe II parish, involved 22 males and some had already engaged the teenagers into sexual activities. Police have arrested, Mustapha Muhwezi, who had allegedly organized the brothel.

“Three pairs of female juveniles were found in compromising positions with male adults. This brothel is allegedly operated by one Muhwezi Mustapha a resident of the same place. He has been arrested” police said.

Muhwezi, according to preliminary investigations, has been trafficking unsuspecting female juveniles from upcountry to recruit them into prostitution acts. Charges of defilement, trafficking in persons, procuring defilement, doing acts likely to cause the spread of an infectious disease, operating a brothel have been slapped against Muhwezi and 22 other adult men arrested from the crime scene.

Police took the male adults to Katwe Police as they contacted the Gender based Violence desk to handle the rehabilitation process of the juveniles.
