The Uganda Police Force has increased the bounty of anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest of key suspects in the murder of Entebbe elderly couple David Mutaaga and Florence Deborah Mutaaga. The couple which had returned to Uganda after serving for more than 30 years in Europe was hacked to death barely two months ago in what seemed to family property fight.

Assistantant Commissioner of Police -ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the Uganda Police Spokesperson, has since announced that the bounty on the suspects has since been increased from 50 million shillings to 60 million shillings. Rusoke said the police continues to search for those responsible for the murder of the Mutaagas.

“We initially offered a reward of 50 million shillings for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, whose photo and voice we have shared. This reward has now been increased to 60 million shillings,” ACP Rusoke said.

Rusoke’s announcement of increased bounty came days after the government daily run a story suggesting that the police had identified the actual suspects. It has turned out to be false and according to Kituuma the suspects Brian Kateeba and Arafat Nsubuga are suspected to have had a hand in teh crime.

“For clarification, we highlighted individuals whom our investigative sources suspect may be connected to the crime. Once conclusive evidence is established against any suspect(s), we will formally release their details to the public,” ACP Rusoke said.
