
An operator carried out by Katwe has led to arrested one suspect for allegedly possessing suspected stolen property and opium.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said the arrest occurred on 15 Jan 25, at 3:30 am in Ggangu C Cell, Busabala ward, Masajja division.
“A joint patrol team comprising police officers from Kibiri police station, Gangu UPDF Detach officers, and local council authorities intercepted three suspects, including Sserugo Isaac and two others,” Onyango said.
Police said upon searching the premises, the team recovered various items, including:
– *Sharp Objects*: 10 sharp knives, 2 pangas, 1 hummer, and 4 pliers
– *Break-in Tools*: 4 master keys
– *Electronics*: 5 phones, 1 StarTimes decoder, and 1 Gotv decoder
– *Personal Items*: 5 women’s handbags, 1 suitcase, and 12 sim cards
“Police recorded statements from relevant witnesses and found that the suspects could not account for the exhibits found in their possession,” Onyango added.
Two suspects evaded arrest, and the remaining suspect is detained at Katwe main police station for further interrogation to establish their motive. The investigation is ongoing.
