Police Launch Manhunt for Two Suspects in Murder of Bugiri Inspector of Schools

The Busoga East police are actively searching for two individuals believed to be involved in the abduction and subsequent killing of Tenwya David Kazungu, the inspector of schools in Bugiri district.

The suspects are reported to have been employed on Kazungu’s farm, which is situated in the Nandelema zone of Kapyanga sub-county, Bugiri district.

According to SP Nadawula Diana, the spokesperson for the Busoga East police, it is alleged that the inspector of schools was abducted from his farm in the Nandelema zone on Saturday, May 27.

Disturbingly, on the following Monday, Kazungu’s family began receiving calls from an unidentified individual demanding a ransom of 20 million shillings for his safe release.

The anonymous person further told them that; failure to comply with this demand would result in the family receiving his lifeless body instead.

“It has been today Tuesday the neighbors complained to the police about the bad smile from the pit latrine, where we found his body when it is dumped inside” PRO Busoga East explained before adding that the body is now taken to Bugiri general hospital for postmortem as the investigations are taking place.

Meanwhile, amidst the rising tension, Kabambwe Benard, the inspector of schools in Iganga municipality has urged people to embark on personal security in all aspects of life.

He highlights the alarming surge in kidnappings and assassinations within the public sphere, which has instilled fear and eroded trust among the populace.

“It’s secure to report or ask for a company whenever you are going to reduce the risks you may face in your journey,” he said
