AIGP Bamunoba Ubaldo, the Chief Political Commissar, has embarked on a mindset change and ethical policing tour in the Rwenzori West region.
Bamunoba emphasized to officers the importance of community policing. AIGP Bamunoba stressed that the police ideology is simple: to serve the citizens of Uganda. To achieve this, officers must understand the people they serve and how to serve them effectively.
Police officers were urged to avoid corruption, bribery, and poor service delivery and encouraged them to adopt a community policing approach to enhance coordination and partnership between the police and the public.
He also urged the officers to ensure full implementation of government programs like the Parish Development Model and Emyooga, among others. Also to ensure that they support the operationalization of the sub-county policing model.
Bamunoba also urged officers to involve themselves in income-generating activities to support their salaries.
