According to the Deputy speaker , Aponye was a skilled business man who did not believe in personal accumulation of wealth ,but instead the use of resources to impact on community.
Tayebwa said; “I see many people in Kampala who do not know how to use money , having money and knowing its value are two different things and I learnt that from Aponyo.”
The speaker also noted that Aponye was beyond a friend to him but someone he instead looked at as a father for the great lessons he had to teach him.
A number including his wife Evangelist Nyegamehe have praised the deceased for his humble personality , being a man of few words and one that had good will to all.
Renowned Aponye on Thursday died in a fatal road crash at Itojo in Ntungamo along the Mbarara-Kabale highway. As of now , his remains are on their way for burial in his home place Rukiga
