Human Remains Recovered from Kampala Shrine

Police have recovered human remains in an operation at a shrine in Masajja, Makindye division, in Kampala.

The remains have been recovered by Katwe police during an intelligence led operation carried out three days ago.

Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said the human remains were picked in Kazinga Masaja, Kibira B village, Masajja Parish. The remains were three skulls and a bottle of suspected human or animal blood at the shrine of Jjaja Magombe John, a 50-year-old witch Doctor.

“The operation was a result of our crime intelligence team which received information that the suspect has been engaging in shady activities in the area,” Owoyesigyire said.

Police said its team has submitted all exhibits to forensic laboratories for analysis, while the suspect is currently detained at Katwe Police station.

“After the arrest, members of the public the following day descended on the shrine and burnt it to the ground at night.
More details will be availed as soon we have them,” Owoyesigyire said.
