BREAKING: Ugandan Forces Kill 18 Cattle Rustlers in Kaabong

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces and police Anti-Stock Theft Unit –ASTU have killed 18 cattle rustlers in Kaabong district, in Karamoja sub-region. According to Assistant Inspector of Police –AIP Mike Longole, the acting Mt Moroto police spokesperson, the cattle rustlers armed with 19 guns attempted to raid a community kraal at Lolelia Kaabong zone, in Kaabong.

Longole said the security forces managed to repulse them through fire exchange thus killing 18 in action. However, most of the warriors escaped with their guns though security agencies only recovered one Sub-Machine Gun- SMG.

Karamoja sub-region has been insecure since 2020 and President Yoweri Museveni ordered for a forceful disarmament exercise. So far, more than 600 warriors have been killed and almost a similar number of guns has been covered according to Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye’s last Friday’s update on Usalama kwa Wote operations.
