NUP SG, Bobi Wine Brother Nyanzi, KCCA Speaker Luyirika Express Worry Over MP Provisional Results

At least four National Unity Platform parliamentary candidates have expressed worry over the ongoing tallying of elections results. NUP Secretary General, Lewis Rubongoya, said he left the field yesterday when his tallies showed he had defeated Minister of Kampala Minsa Kabanda at 17 out of 20 polling centers. However, the ongoing tallying at Kololo ceremonial grounds show Kabanda is still the lead something Rubongoya disagrees with.

According to Rubongoya, Kabanda has presented results at some polling stations especially in Summit View where Nakasero State is, indicating the scores are in 4000 votes.

“Kabanda used goons to destabilize the elections. At Summit View, soldiers voted more than 10 times. I went to the Electoral Commission and I requested them to intervene because what was happening wasn’t an election but fraud. I also informed the police but nothing was done,” Rubongoya said.

Rubongoya has since left the tally centre saying he cannot stay to sanitanize electoral fraud. Also, outgoing KCCA Speaker, Zahara Luyirika, contesting for Makindye west approached journalists with tears flowing her eyes claiming that a directive had been given to rob her victory.

“They tried to rob me from the field but my support was overwhelming. Everyone knows I defeated my competitors convincingly in the field. But now my results are being changed at the tally centre,” Luyirika said.

Also Erias Nalukoola accused his NRM rival Faridah Nambi of concocting results that are being read at the tally centre. Nalukoola said he has tried to alert the electoral commission that what they are reading isn’t what was collected at the plling stations.
