A total of 41 senior police and prisons officers have graduated with a Master’s degree in peace and conflict resolution at police Senior Command and Staff College Bwebajja, along Entebbe road, in Wakiso district. The officers who included Station, Division, District and Regional Police Commanders have been at Bwebajja for a period of one year.

The graduation day was presided over by the minister of state for internal affairs, Gen David Muhoozi, accompanied by the Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba and Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr Johnson Byabashaija. The IGP said police crime has become more sophisticated and requires well trained officers to fight it.

“We live in a time when the security landscape is rapidly evolving. Crime is no longer confined to local boundaries. It is increasingly transnational, digital, and sophisticated. Consequently, training and transformative leadership is required to leverage on the existing security architecture,” IGP Byakagaba said.
