James Wakabi has poisoned himself and two children to death in Mukono district after being left by the wife.
Wakabi is gruesome acts is under Mukono police investigation and has been registered as murder by poisoning and suicide.
Wakabi’s act occurred in Ngandu village, Mukono Central on Sunday night. Locals have told police that the deceased two children were called Abigail Ainomugisha aged three and Daniella Sabano Danella aged two.
“Wakabi’s wife left him a few days ago and she took all her belongings. At around 11 pm we found the family vomiting and we alerted the Chairman,” locals told police.
There were attempts to area rush them to Mukono General Hospital where they were unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said the locals later notified police which responded to the scene.
“Upon investigation, police found the room where the incident occurred had a wooden door with two padlocks. They also discovered suspected vomitus next to the door, clothes stained with vomitus, and a colorless liquid in a flask suspected to contain poison,” Onyango said.
Police later found the bodies at Mukono General Hospital mortuary, with no external injuries observed. “Powder and a flask containing the suspected poison were recovered as evidence. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident,” Onyango added.
