Eight Arrested Over Murder By Stabbing

At least eight people are in Mukono police custody on allegations of murder by stabbing that happened at
Kisoga B village Kisoga Ntenjeru Town Council.

Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said allegations indicate that Lukoya was yesterday at 10:45 pm attacked by gang of eight.

“Lukoya now deceased was heading home at Kisoga B from Kisoga Trading Center and just about 500 metres away from the center, he landed in an ambush were he was stabbed by yet unknown persons and the culprits took off,” Onyango said.

Lukoya, according to the police, was rushed to Erona Hospital by first responders where he was pronounced dead.

Locals notified the police which swiftly responded to the incident. The scene was documented and several recorded statements from witnesses.

Onyango said the police found Lukoya’s body at Erona Hospital mortuary with deep wound on the left rib near the heart.

“The deceased was having a newly bought track trouser and was stabbed almost reaching his home. Too much blood was observed both at the primary scene and at the hospital,” Onyango said.

Police deployed it’s canine dog which led to the arrest of eight youths at Pride Image Bar Kisoga Taxi Park, to help with investigations.

“The body was examined, swabbed and taken to KCCA mortuary in Mulago for postmortem. Security have been beefed up in the area and tracking down other culprits is ongoing,” Onyango said.

Police have asked the community to remain calm as Lukoya’s murder is being investigated. In some cases, locals tend to carry the law into their hands by lynching the suspects, their relatives and destroying property.
