Business mogul, Apollo Nyegamehe aka Aponye, rammed into a stationary Fuso Truck according to Rwizi regional police spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira.
Kasasira said Aponye’s yesterday rammed into the parked Fuso at around 9 pm at Itojo along the Ntungamo -Mbarara Road.
He was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser UBF 300Z while the Fuso had registration number plate UAZ 767D.
“According to the investigations the Land Cruiser was headed to Kabale side and it rammed into a stationary FUSO truck loaded with Irish potatoes that had got a mechanical problem,” Kasasira said.
Aponye’s body was taken to Itojo Hospital mortuary and the rest of the occupants rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital with injuries for treatment.

“The injured are Karamuzi Joshua a male adult passenger and Buyinza Moses a male adult driver of UBF 300Z Land Cruiser,” Kasasira said.
Police said the cause of accident was due to over speeding by the driver of the Land Cruiser.
“Motor vehicle UBF 300Z LAND CRUISER has been towed to the Police yard and UAZ 767D FUSO truck is pending towing due to the have load it’s carrying,” Kasasira said.
