Pedestrian Killed in Crash Involving Minister Nabakooba

A pedestrian has been killed in a road traffic crash involving the Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Judith Nabakooba, along the Kampala–Masaka Highway.

According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred on Wednesday morning at حوالي 8:30 AM at Kibukula Swamp. The crash involved a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, registration number UBR 811D, and a pedestrian identified as Batera Flavia, a resident of Kyengera.

Batera Flavia died on the spot.

Hon. Nabakooba and the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the incident. They were rushed to Nkozi Hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Police said the body of the deceased was taken to Gombe Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination. The vehicle involved in the crash has since been towed to a nearby police station, where it is being held pending inspection.

Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
