Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu the elder brother of National Unity Platform president Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been defeated in Kawempe South MP elections.
Nyanzi was defeated by NRM candidate Nsereko Madina who scored 18591 votes while the former scored 11292 votes.
This MP race has been one of the source of chaos at Kololo tally centre as Nyanzi accused NRM of ballot staffing.
In Makindye East, Ali Nganda Kasirye has been declared winner defeating NRM’s Judith Nuwabaine.
The Kampala District returning officer, Rashid Hashakya, has Kasirye Nganda winner of Makindye East constituency with 17,700 votes while NRM’s Nuwabaine scored 15522.
In Makindye West, the KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyirika, has been declared winner with 32264 votes defeating NRM’s Doreen Keita who scored 12151.
Hashakya has announced that they are cross checking results of Kawempe North and Kampala Woman MP so that they can also be declared.
So far, NRM has three MP victories in Kampala while NUP has five.
