How 5 People Were Struck By Lightening to Death

Police have explain how five people were struck to death by lightening in Ntungamo two days ago. According to Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi police spokesperson, lightening struct the victims at Rwakashanga cell, Rwahi Town Council, in Ntungamo district at around 5pm during a heavy down pour of rain.

Kasasira identified the deceased as Edgar Taremwa aged 38years, Jackline Nduhukire aged 44years, Alexander Mwaka aged 25years. The two other old men were unknown according to Kasasira and they were estimated to be aged between 50years and 30years old respectively.

“It’s alleged that on Tuesday morning eight people went to dig in the gardens of Ruhwabwoba and Kidede both of Rwakashanga cell, Rwentobo Rwahai Town Council.. It rained heavily and they run for shelter in the nearby home at the verandah as the doors were closed lightening struck once and killed the five victims instantly,” Kasasira said.

Kasasira said four bodies that were identified were handed over to their families for burial and one that was unknown was taken to Itojo Hospital mortuary.
