Fraudsters Target Police Fuel, Disguising As State House Officials

Police at Gulu Central Police Station has in custody two female fraudsters who were targeting its fuel disguising as State House officials. The duo has been identified as Susan Acam aged 42 years, resident of Najjera Kampala and Susan Aguti, aged 50years, resident of Bukasa Kampala.

Assistant Superintendent of Police-ASP David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West police spokesperson, said Acam and Agutti are being held at Gulu Central Business policing Division on holding charges of alleged impersonation with intention to defraud.

ASP Mudong explain that the two suspects claimed to be operatives attached to State House Kampala and ISO office. The duo was subjected to thorough scrutiny and interrogations while at the office of the Deputy Regional Police Commander Aswa West after they presented themselves asking for fuel and food items.

“They were claiming to be beneficiaries of those supplies from Police which created even more suspicions because the police does not have provisions of fuel or food items for such categories of people. When they were further asked to present identification documents, they gave forged ones,” ASP Mudong said.

Acam and Agutti were found with a police form 18 (Bond) from Lira CPS was recovered from them and it was discovered that they had been released on the same charges last month of July. “Further information obtained indicates that, the duo masquerade in the areas of Gulu and Lira Cities defrauding people and obtaining goods by false pretence,” ASP Mudong said.

As the suspects’ case file is being built before submission to RSA for legal guidance, Police have urged members of the public who could have fallen victims to the two suspects to cross check with Gulu CPS.
