AIGP Mwesigwa Passes Out ASTU Police Officers

ASTU graduates demonstrate shooting skills

Police’s director operations, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Frank Mwesigwa, has passed out Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) police officers. The ASTU pass out where AIGP Mwesigwa represented the Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba, was held at Olilim Police Training School, in Katakwi district.

Police explained that the passed out officers completed their basic induction course at the Police Training School Olilim, Katakwi. “He (AIGP Mwesigwa) commended the officers for successfully completing the rigorous training needed to combat live stock theft- a persistent threat to rural livelihoods especially in the regions of Karamoja, Teso and Sebei,” Police said in a statement shared on Facebook.

AIGP Mwesigwa thanked the instructors for the unwavering dedication and efforts in shaping the officers as a foundation of our operational success on the ground. In attendance were AIGP Moses Kafero, police’s Director for Human Resource Development (HRD), AIGP David Waswa, police’s director for Counter-Terrorism (CT) and Col Allan Kyagungu, the deputy 3rd Div Commander and other senior officers.
