14 Arrested Over Blocking President Museveni Motorcade

Security forces guarding President Yoweri Museveni have arrested 14 people accused of blocking his motorcade and plucking of the National Emblem from his car. This incident happened two days ago at Kansanga when Museveni was heading to Entebbe.

Special Forces Command (SFC) that guards the President says in the report to Kabalagala police under Traffic reference TSD 16/10/02/2025 that Museveni’s motorcade was rammed into by 15 people at around 11:30am.

SFC indicates that the group had hidden themselves at Rubis petrol station located in Kansanga, and others had disguised as pedestrians. “They were arrested and taken to Kabalagala police station and have today been arraigned in court.”

The suspects include Nabukyu Janet, Lumu Shafiq, Kalema Joshua, Nsubuga Sharif, ⁠Kayanja Tom, Mawejje John, Katumba Jimmy, Holiday Robben, ⁠Namugerwa Nanfuka Annet, Mukisa Jennifer, Kato Kimbugwe, ⁠Nakabugo Elidada, ⁠Nasolo Gladys and ⁠Kamala William.

Daily Press Uganda understands that the suspects have been slapped with charges of careless pedestrian vide under traffic and road safety Regulations 2004. “Mutebi Sharif who removed the National Emblem from H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda’s car has been charged with malicious damage vide CRB 170/2025 and will be produced in court tomorrow.”
