
The Director of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) – Uganda Campus, Air Commodore Kedar Thaakar, has commended the President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for his commitment to fostering the relationship between Uganda and India.
“We thank the President of Uganda for his good relationship with the government of India, who accepted the idea of starting up a National Forensic Sciences University Uganda campus,” Air Commodore Thaakar said.
He made the remarks today while officiating at the celebration of International Yoga Day at National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda Campus – Gaddafi Barracks, Jinja district.
Air Commodore Thaakar said that the Campus aspires to achieve its objective of instilling forensic culture and promoting knowledge and expertise in using forensic techniques and technologies amongst Police, Defence Forces, Judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and associated departments.
He added that the University is not only for security personnel but equally accommodates all students, not limited from Uganda but from all over the world.
The Commandant Uganda Rapid Deployment Deployment Centre, Brig Gen Peter Geatano Omola, lauded the governments of Uganda and India for the good cordial relationship that has helped Uganda to continue fostering development.
He encouraged people to get involved in Yoga activities, saying that it’s not only a physical exercise but also a mental relief and food for the soul.
Present at the function were Officers of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, militants, and staff of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda campus.
