Deputy Speaker Tayebwa, Business Man Kiggundu Win PAP Awards

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa and renowned Business Man Hamis Kiggundu have been recognised for their outstanding contribution towards Pan-Africanism in recent times.

The recognition came through the Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards 2023, whose celebration was held at Fairway Hotel on Saturday 26 August,2023.

The Deputy Speaker’s award was labelled as one for African Renaissance while Kiggundu’s award was for African Renaissance and Iconic Development in Entrepreneurship.

The two came among a list of 12 with others receiving several awards such as education revolutionist , humanitarian and African philosophy among others .

The occasion was graced by esteemed guests into Uganda including Joshua Maponga, a philosopher and born Zibabwean preacher and Paul Flynn a Uganda-Irish figure born in Germany. He is well known for environmental philanthropy.

The Pan African Pyramid Global Awards which this one marked the 10th have always recognized influential Pan Africanists who play key roles in building the continent socially, economically, and politically.

Past awards have gone out to pillars such as Former Libyan President Col. Muammar Gaddafi, General Elly Tumwiine, Prof. Kajabago Ka-Rusoke, John Garang De Ma Bior, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, Fagil M. Mande, Winnie Mandela, and His Excellency Major General Lekoa Solly Mollo (Rtd), among others.
