An Improvised Explosive Devices – IEDs yesterday hit a civilian taxi which was ahead of African Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) killing on spot seven passengers and living six others in a critical condition.
Cold Deo Akiiki the deputy UPDF Spokesperson said the hit taxi was ahead of ATMIS mini convoy from Shalambot heading towards Beledamin.

“It was hit by twin Road Side Improvised explosive Device (RSIED) which exploded simultaneously. Seven occupants died on spot and six were critically injured,” Col Akiiki said.
Uganda has more than 6000 soldiers in Somalia to protect piece. In May this year, Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked a UPDF based and killed 54 soldiers.
Col Akiiki said yesterday’s casualties were rushed to Shalambot hospital by Somali National Army.
