Busoga Bishop Emeritus Cautions Parents, Pupils Against Fake UNEB Exams

Rt. Rev. Paul Moses Naimanhye

BY DANIEL MUMBYA: The Bishop Emeritus of Busoga Diocese, Rt. Rev. Paul Moses Naimanhye, has cautioned parents and pupils against falling prey to fake Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examination papers circulating online and on social media, warning that such materials are misleading and could negatively affect candidates’ performance.

“I caution you against those fake UNEB papers on social media. Do not be deceived. Trust what your teachers have taught you and put your trust in God. Parents are strongly warned because some of them tend to procure fake papers for their children,” Bishop Naimanhye warned.

He also urged Primary Seven candidates to remain prayerful and put their trust in God as they prepare for their final examinations. Bishop Naimanhye was speaking while leading prayers during a dedication and confirmation service at Dawn Prime Academy in Iwawu Village, Bulamagi Sub-county, Iganga District.

A total of 170 Primary Seven candidates were dedicated ahead of this year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), while 48 pupils were confirmed into the Anglican faith. The function was also attended by Iganga District LCV Chairperson, Shabiru Isabirye Kalulu.

In his message, Bishop Naimanhye applauded parents for fulfilling their responsibility of paying school fees for their children, noting that their sacrifice had enabled the school to adequately prepare the learners for their examinations. “I want to thank the parents for sacrificing and paying school fees for your children. You have done your part, and God will reward you,” he said.

Meanwhile, the school’s director, Ms. Justine Nakalembe Mpaabe, commended the teachers for their dedication and commitment to preparing the candidates for their final examinations. She said Dawn Prime Academy provides pupils with a firm academic foundation that positions them for success in their examinations.

Nakalembe urged the candidates to remain humble, disciplined and prayerful, while encouraging parents to continue supporting their children even after the examinations as they transition to secondary school. “We have given you a firm foundation. Remain humble, disciplined and prayerful, and success will be yours. To the parents, do not abandon these children after exams. Guide them as they transition to secondary school,” she said.

In a further show of commitment to academic excellence, Ms. Justine Mpaaku pledged at least Shs1 million to every candidate who attains four aggregates in the PLE. She said the money would help the beneficiaries meet some of their scholastic requirements and school fees as they join secondary school. The school has consistently rewarded outstanding performers over the years as part of its efforts to motivate learners and promote academic excellence.
