Landbroker Stabs Colleague to Death in Masajja

A land broker, Tonny Mukisa, is in police custody on suspicion of stabbing his colleague Geooffrey Kakembo, to death for unknown reasons. Kakembo, who was aged 31, was murdered in Kibiri A Masajja, Makindye Division, Kampala District, on October 16, 2025.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, said Mukisa, a fellow land broker to Kakembo and agent, allegedly stabbed him in the neck with a knife while they were driving along Busabala Road in the deceased’s vehicle, registration number UBP 620S.

Onyango explained that the incident occurred after Kakembo picked up his vehicle from a parking yard, with Mukisa accompanying him. “The vehicle lost control after the stabbing, attracting the attention of a lorry driver who discovered Mukisa trying to support Kakembo. The knife was found on the driver’s seat,” Onyango said.

Police said Mukisa was arrested at the scene with blood stains on his clothing. Onyango added that police have investigated the crime scene, recorded eyewitness statements, and recovered the knife used in the murder.

“Kakembo body was taken to Mulago for postmortem examination. Mukisa is assisting the police with their investigation,” Onyango said. It is not yet clear what might have prompted Mukisa to stab Kakembo to death yet they were all landbrokers and seemingly to close to the extent of moving together in the same car.
