Police Launches Hunt for a Man Suspected of Killing Lover Inside a Lodge

Police in Kira Division are actively searching for a man, who allegedly murdered a female partner, at Silent Kireka Guest House in Kireka B zone, Kira Municipality on Saturday at around 7pm. Investigators have identified the suspect as Mike Bilnego, who booked a room for a short service at Ugx 5000, and was given room 2.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson said at around 11pm, when the lodge attendant went to check the room, she found it open, and switched on the lights, only to find a brown woman, lying dead facing down, across the bed, with blood oozing from her nose.

“The male customer/suspect was nowhere to be seen. The victim’s handbag was empty without any belongings. The matter was reported to police, the scared documented and victims body were taken to the City Mortuary, for postmortem,” Enanga said.

Similarly, police in Greater Masaka and Sembabule district are investigating, a murder by strangulation of a sex worker identified as Mastullah Nabasirye, who had newly rented a room at Nalubega Betty’s rooms, in downtown, Sembabule town council.

Nabasirye had spent only three days in the area, after shifting from Central ward, Lukaya town council in Kalungu district. She was strangled to death, and her naked body, left on her bed. Police have launched for the unidentified culprit.

“These two incidents show how sex workers and other vulnerable women, may be targets of rape, physical and sexual abuse and robbery. We encourage such vulnerable to always be cautious, when dealing with strangers,” Enanga said.
