Waiswa Zakayo the Patriotism patron coordinator, said such clubs have created unity between the teacher and students. This, according to Waiswa, has led to the improvement in the performance of students academically and physically.

“To implement this chain of patriotism you should start tree plantation in the community especially on every function like introduction ceremony, wedding ceremony, graduation ceremonies and birthdays to improve on our environment hence it will improve on the rainfall formation which led to high agriculture production,” Waiswa said.

Waiswa said low financial supports from the government has affected rolling out patriotism clubs in many schools. Training students to be patriotic, Waiswa said requires feeding the students, they health facilities and transport for the instructors.

“Many students are not health enough even to run a kilometer. This is because they are not allowed to make physical exercises more especially the day scholars. There is also poor feeding at home. I emphasis that the parents need to help the children to have a physical training at home because it is necessary,” Waiswa said.
