Slain minister for minister of state for labour Charles Okello Engola
After three weeks of waiting, the bodyguard of Pte Wilson Sabiiti, who killed minister of state for labour, Charles Okello Engola, has been taken to his ancestral home in Fort Portal.
Sabiiti shot Engola at his home in Kyanja village, Nakawa Division in Kampala, on May 02.
Sabiiti after the incident, he walked out of the minister’s residence shouting that he was tired of working for free. He claimed he had not been paid.

Army spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulayigye, said the would not accord Sabiiti any military burial honours. Brig Kulayigye also added that Sabiiti had been paid four days before he killed the minister.
His family members have been demanding for the release of his body in vain. The Army has been responding that they were still doing investigation. This attracted public criticism with people wondering what statement was the army expecting from a dead person.
However, deputy Army spokesperson, Col Deo Akiiki, Sabiiti’s body was handed over last night and it was laid to rest at his ancestral on Tuesday afternoon.
Col Akiiki added that Sabiiti was accorded three gun salute as prescribed for all private soldiers up to Colonel.
Col Engola was buried two weeks ago. Engola’s family forgave Sabiiti’s family since they’re supposed to compensate them as per the cultural demands.
