Man Drowns in Lake Bunyonyi

A man identified as Believe Orikiriza has drowned in Lake Bunyonyi. The victim, according to Kigezi regional police spokesperson, Elly Mate, was aged 34 and his death was brought to police attention by his elder brother Nelson Safari.

Drowning Case was reported to lake Bunyonyi marine detach by Mr Nelson Safari m/a aged 37 yrs mukiga by tribe vice cm Bunyonyi Boat Transporters a resident of Kagasha Village Butenga Kabale district, of his brother by the names of Orikiriza Believe aged 34 yrs a resident of the same area.

Cause was that he capsized when he met strong waves which over turned the canoe he was traveling in while from Rutindo market going back to his home.

His body was recovered and retrieved by police marine and locals and was handed over to relatives for burial.

Nobody is supposed to travel on water without protective gears that can help in case of danger.
