The Church of Uganda -C.O.U Archbishop, Dr Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, has spelled doom to the people promoting and enticing children into acts of homosexuality. Kazimba in his Christmas message released on Tuesday cited the gospel scripture in Mathew 18:6 to wish doom for all persons who are engaged in homosexuality, secretly or openly brainwashing children to engage in the same.

Kazimba explained that as COU they believe in the marriage of one man and one woman, castigate adultery, and distaste anything related to fornication. “We want to make it clear that the Church of Uganda will always uphold the Bible teachings that marriage is between one man and one woman and that is God’s ordained context of sexual relationships. We don’t support fornication, we don’t support adultery and we don’t support homosexuality,” Kazimba said.

Health workers who have been at the forefront of fighting and treating patients of the contagious pandemics Corona Virus Disease -Covid19 and Ebola Virus Disease -EBV have been extolled by the Archbishop.

“Because of your dedication, you have brought us back to where we were before the Ebola outbreak. I thank God that people in Mubende and Kassanda will be able to travel to enjoy Christmas. Let us be alert and careful about the conditions that spread diseases like Ebola and Covid19,” Kazimba said.

Ebola was diagnosed in Mubende in September this year but later spread to other districts including Kampala. Nearly 60 people lost their lives to the Ebola disease while Covid19 that was first diagnosed in 2020 has so far claimed more than 3600 people.

President Yoweri Museveni put Mubende and Kassanda under 63 days of lockdown in a three-phased manner for three weeks in order to control the spread of Ebola. But this lockdown was officially lifted on Saturday in a televised address that was delivered by Vice President Jessica Alupo.

Kazimba has also reminded parents not to overspend this Christmas yet children will be going back to their respective schools in the second month of next year. Ugandans are heading into Christmas when prices of commodities have doubled. This means people are likes to double their expenses compared to previous years.
