Do you speak, read or write Korean language? Or are you a devoted lover of Korean movies? Here is your chance to win big. The Korean government through its embassy in Uganda has announced essay contests on among other things Korean language, culture, movies and drama.
The participants can pick a pen, paper and draft a well thought about essay or record a video speaking or explaining the basics of Korean language or culture. You can do the same if you have watched Korean movies, been in Korea or been interacting with Korean nationals for a while.
If you are eager to being a winner, you can access details of the contest dubbed Essays of the Understanding Korea Contest 2021 on their website. “The Center for International Affair at AKS is the home of the Understanding Korea Project, which seeks to correct inaccurate information on and improve contents about Korea in International textbooks,” reads the announcement on the website.
Interested participants should consider themes such as Images of Korea in international instruction materials that includes International textbooks or Internet sites as well as Proposals on how to improve the image of Korea. In addition, essays can be on Improvements using Understanding Korea materials and suggestions for developing new materials.
For eligibility, you must not be a Korean living in Uganda. The guidelines can be accessed through the official website of the Academy of Korean Studies. The videos, essays or visuals must be in Korean, English and not exceeding about 3 pages in A4 format.
