Police Puts Off Fire at Moka Petrol Station

There was panic in Entebbe town when fire abruptly caught Moka Energy Petrol Station on Monday evening.

Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, who is also the deputy Kampala police spokesperson, said the fire broke out at around 05 :40pm but it was spontaneously put off.

“Police put out a fire that broke out at Moka Energy Petrol station located at Kitala Garuga Road. Two fire tenders arrived at the scene and were able to contain the fire from spreading any further,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.

ASP Owoyesigyire said preliminary investigations show that the fire could have started from one truck (Canter) which was loading fuel in jerrycans that were to be transported to a landing site.

Police said the fire later spread to sedan car before it was extinguished by our officers. However, no casualities were registered.
